Memorial Day, this year on Monday, May 27th, is a federal holiday set aside for people to remember those who died while serving their country in the US Armed Forces.

Atwood - Atwood will hold their Memorial Day program on Sunday, May 26 at 2 p.m. at the Atwood Cemetery.

The town of Allen continues this great tradition of honoring our military, both past and present, with a service at the Allen Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Jeff Maloy will be speaking.

This is followed by the hamburger/hot dog luncheon at the Allen Masonic Lodge on West Broadway. The event is open to all area residents as a time to thank the men and women who have served our country, both in times of war and peace.

In case of inclement weather the observance will be held inside the Lodge building.
