Lady Mustangs Roll over Clayton - Face Weleetka Friday

Mustangs and Lady Mustangs win District Championship

The 93-15 victory secured the Lady Mustangs 23 district title, according to Allen sports historian Steven Bullard. The Allen/Clayton game was virtually over within minutes of the opening tip with Allen outscoring their opponent 40-0 in the first quarter. The Allen girls sank 17 three pointers in a rout , which is more than Clayton had total points (15) All five Allen starters reached double figures in a balanced offensive attack.

Kaylee Davis buried 5 of 8 3-point shots for all 15 of her points. Kryslyn Stephens also scored 15 points and made two shots from long range.

Addison Prentice was next with 14 points and also hit a pair of 3s. She also had nine rebounds.

Stoney Cully made a trio of 3-point shots and scored 13 points for Allen. She also had five rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Cherish Woodward had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. She also had four assists and six steals. Woodward is just 10 points short of her 1,000 point.

Kayla Nickell just missed double figures with nine points and Khloe Goodson followed with eight. Tresley Mowdy, Dextry Bowerman and Goodson all hit one 3-pointer.

Weleetka is the next opponent on Friday night at the local gym. Tip for the game is 6 p.m. Weleetka enters the game as District champions 49-29 over Porum. The Lady Outlaws bring a 14-4 record into the game. The Lady Mustangs own a 20-4 record and are ranked #8 in Class A
