Lady Mustangs Open season with win

· Big Fourth Inning Pushes Mustangs Past Pirates, 10 2 The Allen Mustangs used a huge seven-run fourth inning to pull away from the Moss Pirates and secure a 10–2 win Monday evening in the season opener.

The rally started when Kendelynn Vivier was hit by a pitch to force in a run. Ayla Manuel followed with a two-run single, Kayla Nickell ripped a two-run double, and Cherish Woodward capped the inning with a two-run triple.

Moss struck first in the third inning with a double in two runs, but Allen’s bats came alive in the next frame and never looked back.

In the Circle Cobi Frederick earned the win in relief, tossing two shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out one. Kryslyn Stephens started for Allen, giving up two runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out two.

At the Plate Addison Prentice and Manuel each collected two hits. Nickell, Woodward, and Manuel all finished with two RBIs. The Mustangs showed patience at the plate, drawing seven walks— two each from Nickell and Woodward—and were aggressive on the bases, swiping 13 bags. Nickell, Woodward, Prentice, and Frederick each stole multiple bases. The defense also turned two double plays.

Roff Varsity Lady Tigers 11-2 Victory Over Allen Varsity Mustangs

The Allen Varsity Mustangs took an initial lead in the first inning when Addison Prentice’s single brought in one run. However, the Roff Lady Tigers quickly turned the tide in the bottom of the first, erupting for five runs on three hits to go ahead 5-1. The Lady Tigers added to their lead in the fourth inning, scoring three more runs on two hits..

The Roff pitcher, allowed five hits and two runs over six innings, with four strikeouts and one walk. Cobi Frederick took the mound for Allen Varsity Mustangs, giving up seven hits and 11 runs (six earned) over five and twothirds innings, with no strikeouts and five walks. For Allen Varsity Mustangs, Cherish Woodward and Prentice each drove in a run, posing a challenge as back-to-back hitters. The Mustangs also turned one double play during the game.

The Lady Mustangs will face Ringling on Thursday at 4:15 in the Wapanucka Tournament. Winners play on Friday at 4:15 loser will play Friday at 11:15. The team will return home on Monday to face Stonewall
