Lady Mustangs Looking for District Crown Today
Allen Varsity Mustangs Dextry Bowerman drove in five runs on three hits to lead Allen Mustangs past Wewoka 15-0 on Thursday. Bowerman tripled in the first scoring two, doubled in the second scoring two, and singled in the first scoring one.
Allen Varsity Mustangs won thanks in part to 11 runs in the first inning. Bowerman tripled, scoring two runs, Kaylee Davis doubled, scoring one run, Cherish Woodward singled, scoring one run, Khloe Goodson singled, scoring one run, Tresley Mowdy hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Stoney Cully singled, scoring one run, Bowerman singled, scoring one run, a steal of home scored one run, and Woodward tripled, scoring two runs.
Allen extended their early lead with four runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI doubles by Addison Prentice and Bowerman.
Goodson earned the win for Allen Varsity Mustangs. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking none.
The Lady Mustangs collected 13 hits in the game. Woodward, Prentice, and Cully each collected multiple hits for Allen Varsity Mustangs. Prentice and Cully each stole multiple bases for Allen Varsity Mustangs. Allen Varsity Mustangs stole six bases in the game. Allen Varsity Mustangs didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bowerman had the most chances in the field with two.
Doubles Prentice, Bowerman, Davis Triple Woodward and Bowerman Stolen bases: Prentice 3, Stoney Cully 2 and Bowerman Allen Varsity Mustangs Walk-Off in Nail-Biter Against Quinton Varsity Lady Savages The Lady Mustangs took Thursday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 4-2 walk-off victory over Quinton Lady Savages. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the tenth when Kaylee Davis doubled, scoring two runs.
Dextry Bowerman struck out 19 batters on the day. The pitcher also surrendered four hits and two runs over 10 innings while walking six.
Allen Varsity Mustangs got on the board in the fourth inning after Bowerman doubled, scoring one run.
Quinton Varsity Lady Savages took the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Aliviah Daniels tripled, and Daniels stole home, each scoring one run.
Kayla Nickell singled, which helped Allen Varsity Mustangs tie the game at two in the bottom of the seventh.
Davis drove the middle of the lineup, leading Allen Varsity Mustangs with two runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day.
Double: Bowerman and Davis Stolen Base: Cully Allen vs Konawa It was a hit fest as Allen was all over Konawa 240. The Lady Mustangs had 6 hits in the game with a whopping 19 RBI’s and nine free passes and 0 strike outs. It’s hard to pick out highlights in the game: Woodward had 4 RBI’s and Prentice 3. Two rbi leaders were Cully, Davis, Caityn Williams, Kala Nickell. Bowerman had 2 stolen bases and Prentice and Woodward each had 1. Prentice had a double in the contest.
Kaylee Davis and Khloe Goodson pitched the 3 inning shut out giving up 1 hit and striking out 5 Allen vs Holdenville In Allen’s final game before Districts the Lady Mustangs lost a close one to Holdenville 6-5. Allen took the lead in the second inning on singles by Nickell and Prentice. Holdenville answered back in the third. A Stephens single in the bottom of the fourth knotted the score at 4.
Again, Holdenville answered back in the top of the fifth. In Allen half Allen scored on an error by Holdenville. In the sixth Holdenville hit into a fielder’s choice but scored the go ahead run. Allen couldn’t manufacture a run in the bottom half of the inning.
Kryslyn Stephens took the loss for Allen pitching 5 innings giving up 4 hits and struck out 7. Allen had 8 hits and 5 runs but uncharacteristically had 3 errors in the game. Stephens had 2 double and a single in the game picking up an RBI. Prentice had a single and an RBI in the game. Bowerman and Prentice each had a stolen base.
Due to rainout on Wednesday the District playoffs have been moved to today (Thursday). Webbers Falls and Crowder will meet first with the loser facing Allen. The double elimination tournament will progress throughout the day with the District Champions being crowned at the end. The Lady Mustangs have had a great season and would love a packed field of fans to come out and cheer them on. Admission is $5 for everyone.
