Lady Mustangs end season in Regionals

The Lady Mustangs had a strong first day in the Regional Tournament hosted by top ranked Caddo. Allen started the day beating Bennington to face the Caddo. The Lady Mustangs may have played best game of their season and gave Caddo a scare. The loss put the Ladies in the loser’s bracket. The game against Rattan found the Lady Mustangs playing a little flat and Allen ended their season. “We got a little better each game of the season and by the end we were as good as anyone but came up just short at the end. This was a great group of girls, and we are ready to come back in the spring and try it again,” said Coach Richbourg.

Allen Defeats Bennington, 6-1 The Allen Lady Mustangs opened up scoring in the first inning, when Brooklyn Sanders singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Allen put up four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Allen was led by Ava Laden and Stoney Culley, all driving in runs in the inning.

Kaylee Davis was on the rubber for Allen. The righty surrendered one run on eight hits over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero. The Lady Mustangs racked up seven hits on the day. Cherish Woodward and Sanders all collected had two hits to lead Allen.

Early Lead for Caddo Seals Fate for Lady Mustangs The Lady Mustangs fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-2 loss to Top rated Caddo on Wednesday.

Macyee Davis was in the circle for Allen. The lefty lasted five innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out one. Cherish Woodward threw one inning in relief.

Stoney Culley went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Allen was sure handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Alexis Slabaugh had the most chances in the field with six.

Rattan Captures Lead Early to Defeat Allen Allen fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 4-1 loss to Rattan on Thursday. Rattan took the lead on a single in the second inning.

Kaylee Davis led things off on the circle for Allen Lady Mustangs Varsity. The righthander lasted seven innings, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out nine and walking one.

Ava Laden went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Allen in hits.
