Lady Mustangs Do Well in Rock Creek Tournament

Rock Creek Softball Tournanent Allen 11- Colbert 9 Despite seeing their 10run lead whittled down by the end, Allen still held off for an 11-9 victory on Thursday. Colbert closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a grand slam, a walk, a walk, and a ground out.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Allen collected nine hits and Colbert LEOPARDS Varsity seven in the highscoring affair.

Colbert Varsity got on the board in the first inning after Katherine Fisher singled, scoring one run.

Allen flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring 11 runs on seven hits to take a 11-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a walk by Addison Prentice that drove in two.

Colbert scored five runs on two hits in the top of the second inning.

Cherish Woodward stepped in the circle first for the Mustangs. The right-handed pitcher surrendered six hits and seven runs over three innings, striking out four and walking five. Rowland led things off in the circle for Colbert. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and six runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out none and walking four. Kryslyn Stephens appeared in relief for Allen Varsity Lady Mustangs.

Shealee Norman, the number nine hitter for Allen Varsity Lady Mustangs, led the way with two runs batted in. They went 1-for-2 on the day. Kaylee Davis led Allen with three hits in three at bats. Lilly Matthews led Allen with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Davis and Kayla Nickell each stole multiple bases for Allen Varsity Lady Mustangs. Allen stole seven bases in the game. The Mustangs were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Nickell had the most chances in the field with six.

Allen fell 5-2 to Tushka Lady Tigers on Thursday despite out-hitting them eight to seven.

Kaylee Davis stepped in the circle first for the Lady Mustangs. The right-handed pitcher allowed seven hits and five runs (four earned) over six innings, striking out none and walking two. Chanci Alford led things off in the circle for Tushka Lady Tigers. They allowed eight hits and two runs over six innings, striking out six and walking two.

Addison Prentice led Allen with one run batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Kryslyn Stephens stole two bases.

Addison Prentice drove in six runs on two hits to lead Allen past Boswell 26-0 on Friday. Prentice hit a grand slam to center field in the first scoring four, singled in the first scoring one, and walked in the second scoring one.

Allen won thanks in part to 18 runs in the first inning. Kaylee Davis doubled, scoring one run, Ava Laden drew a walk, scoring one run, Andi Winningham drew a walk, scoring one run, Lilly Matthews drew a walk, scoring one run, Shealee Norman singled, scoring one run, Prentice hit a grand slam to center field, Davis homered to center field, scoring two runs, Laden drew a walk, scoring one run, Matthews was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Norman was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Prentice singled, scoring one run, and Kayla Nickell hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs.

Kryslyn Stephens started the game for Allen Varsity Lady Mustangs. The starting pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out two and walking three.

Davis went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Allen in hits. Stephens led Allen with four walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 17 walks for the game. Laden, Davis, Stephens, Prentice, Woodward, and Norman each stole multiple bases for Allen Varsity Lady Mustangs. Allen ran wild on the base paths, accumulating 21 stolen bases for the game. Allen didn’t commit a single error in the field. Davis had the most chances in the field with two.

Allen 7 Calera 2 The bottom of the lineup helped Allen capture a 7-2 victory over Calera Varsity Lady Bulldogs on Friday. Lilly Matthews, Andi Winningham, and Shealee Norman combined for four of the team’s five hits in the victory. They scored one run and drove in two.

Allen got on the board in the top of the second inning after Winningham doubled, Matthews walked, and Norman grounded out, each scoring one run.

Allen added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when a steal of home scored two runs, and a steal of home scored one run.

Cherish Woodward stepped in the circle first for Allen Varsity Lady Mustangs. She allowed two hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking three.

Allen/Calvins Winningham made the most of their chances at the plate. The number seven hitter led the team with two hits in three at bats. Allenhad patience at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Ava Laden and Kryslyn Stephens led the team with two free passes each. Laden, Kaylee Davis, Stephens, Woodward, and Winningham each stole multiple bases for Allen Varsity Lady Mustangs. Allenstole 16 bases in the game Allen 1 Rock Creek 3 Both teams were strong in the circle on Friday, but Rock Creek Lady Mustangs was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-1 victory over the Lady Mustangs. Kaylee Davis started the game for Allen and recorded 18 outs.
