Jamelle Holieway & Emmit Green to speak at Atwood Nazarene Sports Night October 6th at 6 p.m.
Atwood Nazarene Church is welcoming all sports fans and has extended the invitation to local sports teams to come and hear Jamelle Holieway and Emmitt Green’s testimony.
Holieway was the first true freshman to lead his team to a national championship. Holieway held that honor until 2019 when Trevor Lawrence, with the Clemson Tigers of South Carolina, broke that record after 34 years.
After Holieway graduated from OU he played football in Canada for the BC Lions and in Europe in the minor leagues. Yet, he called Oklahoma home and settled in McAlester, Oklahoma.
Pastor Emmitt “Mickey” Greene loved football and after his football career at OU, he exchanged his football gear and the pursuit of championships for the armor of God and bringing people into the Kingdom of Christ. Greene has been a close friend all these years to Holieway and is the one that guided Holieway into the FCA (Fellowship Christian Athletes). These 1985 National Champions paths have not always been easy. Both men hope that their stories will help guide our youth towards Christ and teach us all that Jesus is the CHAMPION for all of us if we accept him into our hearts.
Jamelle would be pleased to sign any OU memorabilia.
Afterwards, the church ladies will have soups and sandwiches prepared.
Atwood Nazarene Church is located at 4086 Highway 48 in Atwood.
