Last Friday night faithful Allen fans drove down into Coal County to face Coalgate’s mighty football machine. Expectations were high and hopeful, but many Mustang fans were worried. Allen seldom snatches a victory from the football power down in never-never land. In fact, it is reported that Allen has only won perhaps10 times in the past 90 years of this long running series and all of these were on our home field.

But last Friday, Coach McCreary started a new tradition. His team won in Coalgate! The last time we beat Coalgate on their home turf was 1933. That’s a long time ago. At least 90 years.
