Sunday, we lose an hour of sleep as Daylight Savings Time arrives. I do not like Daylight Savings Time and never will.
A wise old Indian once said, “Only the government would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket.”
My friend Mike Grissom wrote the following:
“Will someone in the Legislature do the right thing and introduce a bill to take Oklahoma off Daylight Savings Time? This holdover from Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society” is as useless as it ever was. Nobody can explain why, after more than 30 years, we’re still putting ourselves through the exercise in futility twice a year. ‘Spring Forward,’ ‘Fall Back.’ For what!
We used to have something called ‘evening’ in the summertime. It started about 7:30 or 8:00 pm, just about the time the sun was setting, and the searing summer heat of the day was starting to cool. Evening was great for lawn parties, sitting on the front porch, baseball games without sunglasses and sunscreen oils, and drive-in movies that could start before 10 o’clock. Families actually got home before midnight from Fourth of July fireworks shows!
Daylight Savings Time is not a natural rhythm. Before its inception, high noon was at 12 o’clock and 12 o’clock was when the sun was directly overhead. One could tell with surprising precision the time of day by the sun. Not so now! Bedtime comes about sundown and we’re lying there waiting for the room to get dark.
The whole thing never did make sense. As nature begins a slow gradual lengthening of the summer day, we try to get a jump on her and jerk ourselves into perpetual day. It has no rationale, but it will be remembered that it was the brainchild of federal politicians in the 1960s, so logic cannot be suspected of having played a part.”
There was a report released last year that shows you are at a greater risk of having a heart attack the weekend that we change to Daylight Savings Time than any other weekend during the year.
Daylight Savings Time is nonsense. That is probably why it is a government policy.
What is happening is insane!
Almost every day I read where something else has happened that would have been considered insane not very long back. Consider the following: ebay PURGES DR. SEUSS BOOKS
ebay PURGES DR. SEUSS BOOKS
ebay has removed listings for six Dr. Seuss books. They have e-mailed people that were trying to sell the books saying their listings violate ebay’s “offensive material policy.”
Those responsible for this decision are either stupid or hypocritical….. or both!
Think about this. ebay has pulled down listings of Dr. Seuss books - yet you will find copies of Hitler's Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto for sale with zero complaints. You can also buy classic Playboy magazines and collector items from the Nazi regime.
ebay is just another spineless business that has caved to the politically mob.
For the first time in a long time, I am in the majority.
Poll: Two-Thirds of Americans Think Corporate Wokeness Has Gone Too Far
Results from a national poll released Friday found 65 percent of Americans think corporate America is “taking political correctness too far.”
The study surveyed 1 ,098 adults about their thoughts on a range of high-profile actions corporations have taken recently to appease left-wing activists, including Hasbro dropping the "Mr." from its Mr. Potato Head toy, Disney closing down popular rides at its theme parks that activists claimed were "racist," and Lucasfilm's firing of actress Gina Carano. On Thursday, eBay began banning the sales of Dr. Seuss books.
The study was conducted by Survey Monkey and Public Opinion Strategies and commissioned by The Daily Wire between Feb. 26 and March 3, following a storm of recent cancel mob moves, such as Disney placing warning labels on “The Muppets.”
Nearly 80 percent of respondents believe toymaker Hasbro’s changing “Mr. Potato Head” to “Potato Head” is “silly.”
When initially asked, 58 percent of respondents said they opposed Disney's decision to fire Carano over social media posts. After being shown the actual post that resulted in her termination, however, 72 percent said they didn't agree with the firing, including a majority of liberals and Democrats and 70 percent of Disney fans.
During an interview with The Federalist, Carano said she first became vocal about reportedly touchy or taboo subjects "because I feel like there is a large group of people that were being silenced this year and being forced to play this game of woke ism or whatever it is." The cancel mob made sure to punish her for daring to speak freely and challenging the status quo.
Pushing back against toxic cancel culture, The Daily Wire announced last month after her firing that Carano will produce and star in a film for them.
Participants reported being less likely to consume Disney products after hearing of the company’s politically biased actions. Nearly half also said they believe Hollywood is biased against conservatives.
Sixty-four percent, including 60 percent of Disney fans, oppose the company’s decision to close down or “re-theme” rides such as Splash Mountain just because activists claim they have racist origins and messages.
“Corporate America's lunge into 'wokeness' and cancel culture might hit a bump in the road given public reaction to Disney's recent actions," said researcher Neil Newhouse of Public Opinion Strategies who oversaw the study. "This data clearly shows that actions like the ones Disney has taken recently definitely have the potential to negatively impact its bottom line.”

Corporate America has the backbone of a jellyfish combined with the common sense of a goose!
And last of all, my favorite story of the week…..At the weekly Men in Motion luncheon at Central Baptist Church in Melbourne, Florida, the speaker was talking about the importance of forgiveness. He said, “The Lord has given me the command to forgive the wrongs of others, but He has not given me the ability to forget them.”
From the back of the room, an older man interrupted the speaker: “Just wait a few years!”
Amen!
