Cayser Nickell selected as A Gates Scholar!

has been active in several extracurricular activities. He is a member of both the National and Oklahoma Honor Society, Interscholastic Team (First Place winner in Business). He has also been working in his spare time since he was 12 years old.

The congratulatory email was sent to the recipients on Sunday, April 20th.

Cayser has been accepted to East Central University. He plans to get his basics at ECU then transfer to Oklahoma State University acquiring a Bachelor in Kinesiology then onto the Physical Therapy doctoral program.

The son of the late Jesse Nickell and Olivia Manuel both from Allen. Cayser also has six siblings. He has attended Allen Schools since kindergarten. He has been active in FFA, FCCLA, basketball, track, football, and student council all while maintaining a 4.0 gpa.

In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, and camping.

He has a strong passion to continue his education in the medical field. Cayser lost his father, Jesse, in February of 2024 after battling brain cancer for twelve years. Jesse was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation, instilling his love for the outdoors and a healthy lifestyle in Cayser from a very early age.

“I enjoy being healthy and working out because my health is important to me, and I feel like I can use what knowledge I have to help others improve their health and wellbeing”.
