Allen Teams Continue Winning Ways

Both of the Allen High School basketball teams currently own top 10 placings in the Class A final basketball polls. The Lady Mustangs sit at #5 with an unblemished 17-0 record and the Allen men are #9 with a 17-1 record. The Mustangs only loss is to conference foe Stonewall in the finals of the Conference tournament early in the season. District playoff assignments are scheduled to be released on Friday of this week. The teams will finish this week with a makeup game at Vanoss on Thursday and host Tupelo on Friday night. They will finish the regular season next Tuesday with a trip to Latta and the last regular season games will be at home against Stonewall on February 2 and Tishomino on Feb 6.

It was another great weekend for the Allen teams as they both brought home the championship trophies at the 2nd Annual Mustang Winter Classic.

They battled to a 22-20 lead by Allen. A strong 3rd and 4th quarter brought Allen the 54-40 win.
