The Allen Academic Team will be competing in the State Tournament on Saturday, January 28th, at Rose State College. This hard-won honor was accomplished by the team of Maebrey Wallace (team captain), Keenan Walker, Jack Todd, Taylor Wood, Kelsey Hurt, Camdyn Williams, Brooklyn Sanders, Easton Ledo, Alex Williams, Ty O’Daniel, Lance Johnson and Conner Smith.

Their year started with a competition in October at Vanoss High School. The locals won the top seed at that District Tournament which also included the area teams of Velma-Alma and Konawa.

The team’s next stop was the Regional Tournament at Ninnekah on November 12th, where they were the #1 seed and competed against seven teams. They won the Regional Tournament — which was the first time that anyone can remember winning Regionals in academics.

With this win the team advanced to the Area Tournament, held Saturday, January 14th at Sterling. Once again, they were the top seed and competed against seven other teams with only two advancing to the State Tournament. Allen won three straight games, won the Area Championship title, and punched their ticket to the State.
