Davis started in the circle for Allen Varsity Lady Mustangs. They gave up seven hits and three runs over six innings, striking out four and walking two. Laden and Kryslyn Stephens were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Allen while hitting back-to-back. Laden went 1-for-2 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with one run batted in. Allen was surehanded in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Cherish Woodward had the most chances in the field with six. ~~~~~ There were runs aplenty on Monday, as Allen/Calvin defeated Holdenville Wolverines 12-10. Allen/Calvin collected 10 hits, while Holdenville Wolverines had 14.
Addison Prentice collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Prentice doubled in the fifth inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the first inning.
Allen/Calvin got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kaylee Davis doubled, Cherish Woodward tripled, and Kryslyn Stephens grounded out, each scoring one run.
The Wolverines made the score 6-3 in the bottom of the third after Bella Smith singled, scoring one run, Alivia Griesinger doubled, scoring two runs, and Mady Belle McFarland singled, scoring one run.
Allen/Calvin flipped the game on its head in the top of the seventh, scoring seven runs on five hits to take a 12-10 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Ava Laden that drove in three.
Woodward pitched four innings in relief. She allowed six hits and four runs while, striking out four and walking three. Davis started the game for Allen.. The righty allowed eight hits and six runs over three innings, striking out three and walking four.
Allen/Calvin amassed 10 hits in the game. Laden went 2-for-4 at the plate as they led the team with three runs batted in. Woodward collected two hits in four at bats. Allen was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kayla Nickell made the most plays with seven.
Another tournament this week for the team as they travel to Asher. They open with Konawa Thursday at 3. A win will have them returning Friday at 3. Finals for the tournament are Saturday starting at 3. The tournament will host Wayne, Wapanucka, Asher, Varnum, Stratford, Wewoka, Paoli, Allen and Konawa.
The team will return home on Monday to host a three-way with Tushka and Moss.
