Allen 8 Moss 7

Allen squeaked by Moss last week 8-7. Moss opened the game scoring 2 in the opening inning. The Mustangs answered back on the strength of a Cruz Garrett home run and a bases loaded walk. Moss added 3 runs in the second and it took until the bottom half of the 4th for Allen to cross the plate again scoring 4 runs in that inning. The Mustangs used an error, bunt, hit by pitch, a single, walk and fielder’s choice to scrap up the 4 runs. Allen added 2 more in the fifth on a double by Alex Hill. It was a sloppy game with Allen having 5 errors and Moss 8. Alex Hill earned the win allowing 2 hits and 2 hits (0 earned) striking out 6. Hill also was the hit leader with 2 hits in 3 at bats. Allen had seven baserunners courtesy of walks. The Mustangs stole 8 bases with Gauge Lockhart swiping 3 2B Hill HR Cruz Garrett Stolen bases: Lockhart 3, Bodee Garrett, Cruz Garrett, Jax Watkins, Landin Tanique and Noah Bray.

Noah Bray had 2 hits for Allen and stole a base to lead the team. C Garrett and Tenequer each had a hit. Alex Hill took the loss pitching 5 inning s giving up 5 runs on 4 hits walking 3 and striking out 4; Lockhart pitched an inning of relief walking 1 and striking out 1.

Jax Watkins had an RBI in the game. Alex Hill had 2 hits, and Lockhart had the Mustangs only other hit in the game. Lockhart had 3 stolen bases, C Garrett 2 and Kale Horton 1. Unfortunately, defensively the Mustangs racked up 6 errors in the game.
