One Pharmacist’s View

My mom had a twin. Not identical but they were a lot alike in looks and in their ways. I always liked coming over and visiting the twin’s family, especially those many years ago when they lived here at Allen. They had two boys (among their many assorted children) about my age.

In the past few months I have been going to the grocery store for Dayna. I never realized how many choices there are for one item and it can be confusing. Greg Landraf knows just what I mean. Let’s consider just one item, eggs . . .

Another December 7 . Yes, it is another Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day next Monday. It is an internationally known metaphor for disasters such as the day Japanese aircraft mounted a sneak attack on America’s 7 fleet peacefully at anchor in Hawaii. As such the slogan is remembered to this day.

Thanksgiving is a kickoff date for the holiday season. So much to be thankful for. God and country and pure clean cold water as near as our tap. Back in 1964 I moved to Allen. I had checked the town out fairly good, I thought. I even asked about the town’s water.

Like so many other things Sunday has changed dramatically over the years. As a youngster, after church we would go home for lunch and spend the afternoon visiting or napping. No work was done on Sunday unless it was an emergency and there was no shopping.

I was listening to a preacher recently and he spoke on what we perceive as news and what someone else sees as less important. He used as an example, a news date from September 5, 1997. Princess Diana Spencer had been killed in a car wreck in Paris, France a few days before.
