Residents are asked to report storm damage.

The town of Allen was fortunate and saved from our water and system being shut down during last week’s storm. The Allen city workers battled the cold and snow to keep the system thawed out and in working order. A lot of towns in the state were not so lucky as we have seen Holdenville, Stonewall and Wetumka still battling to get water to their citizens.

District Champions! The Mustangs defeated a scrappy Quinton team Saturday to bring home the trophy: (l-r) Coach Greg Mills, Will Kaminski, Gage Holder, Taylor Wood, Coyt Bell, Brayden Tatum, Chad Milne, Keithon Howard, Jake Beavert, Easton Ledo, Garret Nix, Tagus Howard, assistant coaches Greg Sanders and Dayne Parker. The team plays Saturday night in the first round of Regionals.

Sitting in my cozy den, safe from the howling winds of this cold spell, Pat and I enjoyed watching the Grand Ole Opry’s celebration of its 95 celebration. It was good TV and to two octogenarians it made for many great memories.
