Silo Comes to Town Thursday

The Allen girls came home with the championship hardware from the Konawa tournament last weekend. The boys didn’t fare as well but both teams are ready to return home Thursday for a tough battle with Silo.

The Allen ladies handed Shawnee JV a 48-28 loss. Kaylyn Rowsey led the Lady Mustangs with 20 points, Kinsey Nix 7, Maddie Clifford 5, Kin-lee Cundiff 6, Carissa Childers 4, Jaycee Watkins 3, Emily Sells 3

The win put the Ladies in the semi fi nals against Destiny Christian. Allen came out with the 58-33 The finals was a showdown between Allen and Wewoka. Allen finally took the lead at the end of the 3rd period and came out with the 54.49 win. Kinsey Nix 16 points, Kaylyn Rowsey 18, Emily Sells 10, Jaycee Watkins 5 Calissa Childers 3 and Kinlee Cundiff 2.

“I was proud of our girls, three games in a row are hard, no matter who you face. But we came out strong, got a lot of offense out of Kaylyn and the others got her the ball and let her go to work,” said Dottie Slabaugh. Thursday a strong Silo team comes to town and we will see where we stand at this point of the season.

The Allen men won their opening round with a 49-38 win. Chad Milne 16, Gerison Johnson 10, Rylan Black 9, Nathan Hammonds 8 and Jaren Porter 6

Second game was a loss 64-51 loss to Wewoka. Milne had 27, Porter 10, Johnson 10, Black 6, Hammonds 3.

In the Consolation fi nals Allen fell to host Konawa 56-50. Konawa built a 10 point lead going into the fourth which the Mustangs could not fully recover from. Milne 21, Hammonds 14, Porter 4, Black 4, Jake 3, Johnson 2, Howard 2.

“We had some bright spots this week but we are just lacking consistency,” said Coach Greg Mills. We have a big tournament next week, we need to use that as an opportunity to get ready for the playoffs.
