Service held for Bruce Griffin

Posted in:

Bruce Griffin of Allen, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, surrounded by family.

Bruce was born on March 30, 1959, to Billy Lee Griffin and Katie Glendene (Prentice) Griffin in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. The middle of three children, Bruce was the only brother of Marla Beth and Leah Kay. He attended Seminole and Allen High School, graduating in 1977. Bruce went on to work for Union Pacific Railroad, the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, and in construction for Bob Jensen.

He used these careers to build the life he wanted on his land, to live a life where he never felt the need to take a vacation. He’ll most be remembered for his natural ability to bring the good times to him, being the place all his friends could drop in on. While he was not overly sentimental, his chief joy came from those around him. He never shied away from helping his sisters move, mow his parent’s lawn, or rise to the challenge of finding the perfect birthday or Christmas present for his nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Bill Griffin.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Glendene Griffin; sisters, Marla (David) Tinkler and Leah (Todd) Tidwell; nephews, Conner (Rikki) Tinkler, Dylan (Ashton) Tinkler and Matthew Tidwell; niece, Kelsey Anne Tidwell; great-nieces, Jordan, Lennon, and Ivy Tinkler; as well as many close friends and extended family members.

Services will be held at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Allen, Oklahoma, on November 21st at 1:00 pm.

Pallbearers include Conner Tinkler, Dylan Tinkler, Matthew Tidwell, Kenny Moore, Roger Byrd, Gary Don Howard, Scott Vanderveer, and Bradley Prentice. Honorary Pallbearers include Dale Moore, Roger Rowsey, Roy Johnson, and Harold Sanders.
