New Playoff Passes will be issued, Crowd size to be reduced by OSSAA
Allen will be hosting Area IV District and first round Regional games. In District play, on Friday, February 12 th , Quinton and Haileyville will face off, the girls at 6:00, boys at 8:00 pm. Allen received the bye for Friday but will face the winner of that contest on Saturday, February 13 th , again 6:00 for girls and 8:00 for the boys. Regionals will begin on Thursday, February 18 th .
The OSSAA, the Governor’s Office and the State Department of Health are engaged in conversations regarding the capacity levels that will be permitted during the play-offs. The following minimum mandates will be implemented at each play-off site.
Allen School administration is responsible for compliance with all OSSAA mandates. These include:
1. Facial coverings/masks will be required.
2. Social distancing practices will be observed. (including all student groups)
3. Facilities will be cleaned between contests/sessions unless the same two schools are participating in the next contest.
4. Seating will be designated to meet the capacity mandates or sitespecific mandates per local school district.
Game times: All game times are set by OSSAA. There will be two sessions: Afternoon session games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Evening session games at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. (NOTE: If same two schools are involved in the sessions, the second game may begin 15 minutes after the first contest since the gym would not be cleared between games.)
Clearing the facility between contests: The facility will be cleared between each contest of a two-game session unless the same two schools are involved in the same session. (The second game participants in the session come from the same schools as the first game participants).
Ticket prices: Tickets are $7 per session for District, Regional and Area tournaments. State tournament tickets are $10 per session. Anyone school age or above will be required to purchase a ticket. If the facility is cleared within a session a ticket stub must be presented to re-enter the second game of a session. Sites may use a stamp in place of a ticket stub.
OSSAA Passes: A limited number of OSSAA passes will be admitted to a playoff contest. The number of passes allowed will be at the discretion of the host site and based on capacity.
Spirit (Cheer/Pom): Each school is limited to 10 spirit squad members. No additional squad members will be admitted. All squad members are required to wear a mask.
Participation for a team halted due to COVID: Should a team qualifying for the next scheduled round of the play-off series become unable to participate in the contest due to COVID, the opponent of that team will automatically advance to the next scheduled round of the play-off series. Ex: Team A is scheduled to play Team B; Team A is unable to play due to COVID; Team B automatically advances.
