John Linzie Bishop passed away at his home in Allen, Oklahoma on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at the age of 67 years. John was the son of Joseph Ernest Bishop and Bertie Bernice (Duncan) Bishop, born on March 19, 1951, in Ada, Oklahoma. His early years were spent with his family traveling all over the western half of the United States. Most of his school attendance was in Ada. He married Patricia K. Bishop and they were parents of three children, John, Cindy, and Mark. He later married Debra Wright and they had two daughters, Patty and Callie. John worked as an auto mechanic, carpenter, and general handyman. He considered himself a jack of all trades and worked at various jobs until he was injured and disabled in 1993. He loved fishing, model airplanes and boats, and enjoyed just keeping busy with various projects and hobbies. He made his home in Allen since 1993. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bertie Bishop; one sister, Mildred Stowe; and one brother, Rick Bishop. He is survived by five children, John Bishop of Allen, Cindy Medrano of Arizona, Mark Bishop (Kathy) of Russellville, Arkansas, Patty Anderson (Juston) of Holdenville, and Callie Bishop of Tulsa; fourteen grandchildren, Eric, Doug, Amber, Michael, Jeffery, John, Chelsea, Mark, Lucas, Trinity, Jay, Brendon, Aiden, and Juston; four great grandchildren; one brother, Doug Bishop of Ada; nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Allen.
