Hazen Sparks wins 2023 Champion Steer Wrestler year

Hazen Sparks is the son of Shane and Kendra Sparks of Buffalo Valley, OK. His grandparents are Judy and Ed Smith of Allen. Pam & Gary Sparks of Buffalo Valley, OK. Great grand parents of the late Kenneth & Betty Mitchell. He has two sisters named Laney and Josey Sparks.

Hazen will be a Senior at Buffalo Valley High School he is active in Baseball, FFA, & Rodeo. He will serve as the local FFA President.

Hazen is a 3rd generation steer wrestler. He started his career several years ago in the junior rodeos tie down roping and chute dogging. 2022 was his first year to enter the high school association. He ended up in the top 4 and qualified for Nationals in Gillette Wy. He also won the 16 and under incentive buckle at the Duvall’s Jackpot and won the 19 and under in the Huddleston’s jackpot. Returning in 2023 his goal was to win the State Title for the Oklahoma High School Association, and he did just that.

2023 Champion Steer Wrestler year end. National Qualifier.

Reserve all-around cowboy Top 10 finalist in Tie Down. Avg. tie down champion. He won Year end Steer Wrestling Buckle, saddle, & PRCA permit.

Reserve all around buckle Top 15 tie down qualifier buckle He will be going to Gillette, Wyoming in July to complete at the National Finals.
