Football / Cheer Seniors and Parents Honored
Allen senior football players and cheerleaders were honored in a pregame ceremony on Friday, October 30th. Those recognized for their support and dedication were:
Rodey Arnold, son of Brad Arnold and Cindi and Glen Bowers. Rodey has attended Allen for 12 years. He wears #15 and plays noseguard for our Mustangs. His favorite memory of football was beating Stroud and leading the best Scout-0 team his junior year.
Trent Fronterhouse, son of Lacy and Randy Williamson. He has attended Allen since PreK. He wears the #72 and plays the position of right tackle. His most memorable moment was the excitement of being District Champs his freshman year and making the playoffs.
Jose Garcia, son of Luis and Martha Garcia. He has attended Allen for the past three years. Jose plays right tackle for the Mustangs and wears the #79. His most memorable moment was when a snake came out from under a barrel that they were using in practice.
Brayden Griffith, son of Theron and Hollie Griffith. He has attended Allen since Pre-K. Brayden wears #9 and plays cornerback for the Mustangs. His favorite memory was when they won the District Championship his freshman year.
Caden Howard, son of April Whitehead and Zac and Christina Howard. He has attended Allen Schools since kindergarten. He wears #34 and plays tight end and inside linebacker. His most memorable moment was playing alongside his brother and fellow teammates.
Gage Husband, son of Chris and Rhonda Husband. He has attended Allen Schools since Pre-K. He plays defensive tackle and linebacker for the Mustangs and wears #50. His favorite memory of football was after beating Stroud and in the locker room when it sounded like Shawn said “We beat both the Eagles”, but what he really said was “We beat both the evils.”
Lawrence Matteri, grandson of Pheobe Williams and the son of Jennifer Matteri. He has attended Allen Schools for nine years and has been a cheerleader for the past two years. His favorite memory of cheer was last year at the end of one of the practices. They were putting up the mats which involves pulling up Velcro straps—people from each end were pulling toward the middle and Alyssa’s hair got caught in the Velcro. She didn’t tell anyone and we kept rolling the mats.
Zoey McDonald, daughter of Jana McDonald. She has attended Allen Schools for ten years. Zoey has been a member of the cheer team for all four years of high school. Her most memorable moment was making the All-American Team and getting to go to London, England with a couple of her fellow cheerleaders and making so many memories.
Chad Milne, son of Kala Stephens and Brad Milne. He has attended Allen since kindergarten. Chad wears #2 and plays wide receiver and strong safety for the Mustangs. His favorite memories are being able to play sports with his friends.
Kylan Sanders, son of Greg and Sue Sanders. He has attended Allen since Pre-K. Kylan wears #63 and plays right guard for the Mustangs. His favorite memory was when he trucked Trent during the Stratford game as they ran for a touchdown.
Clayton Shackelford, son of Christina Keenan. He has attended Allen since 1st grade. He plays left tackle and defensive tackle for the Mustangs and wears the #69. His favorite memory is when Jack Todd got fire ants all over his legs and jumped into a water puddle in the middle of practice.
Josh Slater, son of Donna Slater and Bryon Slater. He has attended Allen Schools for four years. Josh is a running back and inside linebacker for the Mustangs and wears the #23. His favorite memory in football is the fact that Coach Green always called me by my name and never by my nickname “Nacho.”
Jaden Wilson, daughter of Candice and Jimmy Wilson. She has attended Allen Schools since Pre-K. Jaden has been a member of the cheer team for three years. Her favorite memory of cheer was her mom becoming the “cheer coach” for her senior year.
Thanks go to all of these seniors, their parents and our community for supporting Mustang football and the cheerleading programs.
