Basketball Seniors & Parents are Honored
Twelve seniors were honored Tuesday evening, February 18 th , in a pre-game ceremony thanking them for their contributions to the Allen Mustang Basketball programs. These seniors have not only participated in basketball but also many other activities at Allen Schools.

Madalen Clifford is the daughter of Justin Clifford and Heather Clifford, and Angela Ashby and Jonathan Ashby and has five brothers and one sister. She wears the number 30 for the Lady Mustangs and plays the guard position. Her favorite memory of basketball happened at the Tri-County Tournament when Kaylyn got scratched on the nose and was bleeding pretty bad and she had to help her clean it up. After graduation, Madalen plans to get her cosmetology license and eventually open her own salon.
Calissa Childers is the daughter of Ashley Jameson and Wesley Cornelius and has one sister and two brothers. Calissa plays post and wears the number 13. Her most memorable moment was when she slid down a rail in her white basketball shorts before a game and ended up with a big rust line right across her rear— Emma did everything she could to get the rust off of them. Calissa’s future plans are pipe-lining and traveling with the line.
Kinlee Cundiff is the daughter of John and Lisa Cundiff and she has one sister. She wears #34 for the Lady Mustangs and plays post. Kinlee had two funny memories in basketball and both involve her fellow teammate and cousin Jaycee. The first is when Jaycee got screened by a post player last year running down the court and went flying backwards—110 pounds vs 280 pounds…well we all know who won that one. The second one was when we played in the Moss Tournament and Jaycee may have pinched an opposing player and the girl started screaming at the ref “She pinched me” and then showed the ref the bruise. Jaycee may have gotten a foul called on her. Kinlee’s future plans are to attend Redlands Community College next fall and major in Ag Communications then transfer to OSU in Stillwater.
Nathan Hammonds is the son of Robert and Vertilla Hammonds and has one sister. He is a point guard for the Mustangs and wears the number 3. His favorite basketball memory is winning the North Rock Creek Tournament and, oh yeah, Chad’s game winning shot was pretty cool, too. Nathan’s future plans to go to OSU-IT and major in Natural Gas Compression.
Chris Holcomb is the son of Shonda Moore and Leon Moore and Eric Holcomb and Rachel Howard, and he has a host of siblings. He wears #30 and plays power forward for the Mustangs. Chris’ favorite memory of basketball was finding out he would be able to play the rest of his senior year after tearing his ACL. Chris’ future plans include attending OSU-IT and graduating with a degree in Low Voltage and becoming an electrician.
Airyn Knighten is the son of Stacey Kelley and Frank Kelley and Jimmy Knighten and Shelly Kerr and has five siblings. Airyn wears #11 and plays guard for the Mustangs. His favorite memory was when Chad hit the gamewinning 3-pointer against Wellston earlier this year. Airyn plans to go to OSU-IT and major in Diesel Mechanics.
Kinsey Nix is the daughter of Chad and Valerie Nix and has one brother. Kinsey is the point guard for the Lady Mustangs and wears the number 24. Kinsey’s most memorable moment was when she was a few points short of 1000 points in our brand new gym and she got a little bit too anxious…and, well, she scored a bucket for the other team. Her future plans include attending Murray State College next fall to play softball while pursuing a nursing degree.
Jaren Porter is the son of JR Porter and Jodi Porter and he has one sister. He wears #5 for the Mustangs and plays shooting guard. Jaren’s memory of basketball was winning the North Rock Creek Tournament his senior year. His future plans are to attend OSU-IT.
Kaylyn Rowsey is the daughter of Rodger and Cheryl Rowsey and she has two siblings. She plays forward for the Lady Mustangs and wears the #11. Kaylyn’s most memorable is the blackout in the middle of a game during the Konawa Tournament. After waiting two hours for the lights to come back on, Allen finished the game with a win and ended up winning the whole tournament! Kaylyn plans on attending ECU to obtain her Bachelor of Science Degree and then attending OU for P.A. school.
Dillon Royalty is the son of Glen Royalty and has two siblings. Dillon serves as both the water boy and manager for the Mustangs. His most memorable moment is when Chad hit the game winning shot against Wellston to win the North Rock Creek Tournament. Dillon plans on majoring in Graphic Design after he graduates.
Jaycee Watkins is the daughter of Jason and Jodi Watkins and has one brother. She wears #20 and plays guard for the Lady Mustangs. Her most memorable moment is when Kinlee tripped over the half court line during a fast break and bit it in front of everyone. Jaycee plans to attend Redlands Community College in the fall.
