Allen Falls To Konawa
The Allen Mustangs lost to the Konawa Tigers on October 17th by a score of 36-15. However, the first half was very competitive.
After several unsuccessful drives by both teams, Allen eventually punched through on a 6-yard rushing touchdown by senior Airyn Knighten just before the end of the first quarter. A good PAT kick by junior Clayton Shackelford made the score 7-0, Allen.
After some more back and forth drives, Konawa scored a touchdown, along with a two-point conversion to make it 8-7, Konawa.
But the Mustangs quickly answered with a touchdown and two-point conversion of their own. Senior quarterback Kason Smith connected with senior Boone Brecheen for an 11-yard touchdown pass, 15-8, Mustangs
On the following drive by Konawa, Airyn Knighten intercepted a pass, and Allen had the ball on its own 41-yard line. However, the drive stalled and Allen punted.
Konawa started on Allen’s 45-yard line, then drove down and scored on a passing touchdown. After a successful two-point conversion, the halftime score was 16-15, Konawa.
The third quarter proved to be disastrous for the Mustangs as Konawa scored three unanswered touchdowns, making the final score 36-15.
The Mustangs (3-4/1-3) will travel to Mounds this Friday, October 25th , to battle the Golden Eagles (4-3/1-3). The game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
