#4 Allen Wins Tournament Crown

It was a big week for the Allen softball team, battling through the Tupelo Tournament to claim the Championship. The team avenged an earlier loss to Tushka and crushed Stonewall in the Championship game. The Lady Mustangs start the week ranked #4 in the Class A polls.

The tournament which started in Tupelo but due to a rain soaked field was moved to Tushka for last three games.

Allen picked up wins over Vanoss and Holdenville this week and host Roff on Friday. Up next week for the Lady Mustangs Stonewall comes to town on Monday and then the Roff tournament ends the week.

Lady Mustangs Victorious Stonewall Thanks to Seventh Inning Boost

The Lady Mustangs scored nine runs in the seventh on its way to a 16-1 victory over Stonewall on Saturday. The Lady Mustangs’s offense in the inning came from singles by Taylor Tollett, Kinsey Nix, Riley Koonce, and Kaylyn Rowsey, a triple by Katey Read, and by Sunzie Harrison.

The Lady Mustangs jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the third, before Stonewall could plate a run in the fifth inning. The day belonged to Allen who gathered 15 hits compared with Stonewall's 5.

Maddy Clifford pitched the Lady Mustangs to victory. She allowed two hits and one run over four innings, striking out one. Harrison threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Sunzie recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for Allen

Walker took the loss for Stonewall. She lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 hits and 14 runs while striking out one.

The Lady Mustangs totaled 15 hits. Rowsey, Koonce, Clifford, and Meegan Costner all managed multiple hits for the Lady Mustangs. Clifford, Koonce, and Rowsey all had three hits to lead the Lady Mustangs. Katie Read lilt a three RBI triple and Maddy Clifford had a double in the game. Rowsey had a 4 RBI day at the plate. Nix and Rowsey also had a stolen base each. "We are so proud of our girls, all the hard work they put in during the off season and during the season really showed today, we were tired, coming out of the losers bracket but they would not be denied. That Championship game was especially sweet, we were tired, injured but we pushed past all of that to pretty much dominate in that game."

The Lady Mustangs Clinches Lead in Fourth Inning to Defeat Tushka

The Lady Mustangs snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Tushka on Saturday. The game was tied at two with Allen batting in the bottom of the fourth when Kinsey Nix doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

The Lady Mustangs got on the board in the first inning. Katey Read singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Tushka evened things up at two in the top of the second inning when an error scored one run for Tushka.

Riley Koonce got the win for the Lady Mustangs. She surrendered two runs on six hits over five innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Huffman took the loss for Tushka. She surrendered four runs on five hits over four innings, striking out two.

Nix went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and and single to lead the Lady Mustangs in hits. Maddy Clifford had an RBI double and Harrison and Read each had a RBI. And the Mustangs stranded 5 runners in the game.

Riley Throws Shutout as The Lady Mustangs Defeats Rattan

Riley Koonce didn't allow a single run against Rattan, throwing a complete game shutout and leading The Lady Mustangs to a 2-0 victory on Saturday

The pitching was strong on both sides. Koonce struck out four, walked none: while Rattan's pitcher sat down three.

Koonce was the winning pitcher for The Lady Mustangs. She lasted five innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero.

Kinsey Nix went 2-for3 with a triple and and single at the plate to lead the team in hits.

Allen ran wild on the base ath stealin 5 bases: p g Rowsey with 2, Read, Nix and Emma Peay each had one. The Mustangs stranded 5 runners.

The Lady Mustangs Shuts Out Tupelo

Riley Koonce didn't allow a single run as Allen defeated Tupelo 6-0 on Friday. Koonce allowed just one hit.

The Lady Mustangs tallied three runs the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by The Lady Mustangs was - led b y Koonce and Katcy Read, who all drove in runs.

Koonce was credited with the victory for The Lad y Mustangs. She surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out six and walking zero.

Sliger took the loss for Tupelo. She went four innings, allowing six runs on six hits, striking out one and walking one.

Maddy Clifford, Meegan Costner, Sunzie Harrison, Koonce, Kinsey Nix, and Kaylyn Rowsey each managed one hit to lead The Lad y Mustangs. The Lad y Mustangs didn't commit a single error in the field. Costner had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

Harrison stole 3 bases while Nix, Read and Rowsey each stole one.

Pitchers Duel In Low- Scoring Affair, The Lady Mustangs Falls to Tushka

Both teams were strong in the pitcher's circle on Thursday, but Tushka was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory 3-1 over the Lady Mustangs on Thursday. Riley Koonce started the game for The Lady Mustangs and recorded 15 outs.

Stevi Caldwell and Kinsey Nix each collected a double to lead The Lady Mustangs. Meegan Costner had the lone RBI

The Lady Mustangs Takes Victory Over Roff, 4-2

Allen got things moving in the first inning, when Riley Koonce grounded out, scoring one run.

Roff knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the second inning. Roff scored one run when Ensey singled.

The Lady Mustangs pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Stevi Caldwell drew a walk, scoring one run and Taylor Tollett singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run.

Koonce got the win for Allen. She surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out two and walking one.

Mayfield started the game for Roff. She allowed zero hits and two runs, walking one

The Lady Mustangs tallied 11 hits in the game. Sunzie Harrison, Maddy Clifford, and Taylor Tollett all collected 2 hits for The Lady Mustangs. Allen stole four bases during the game as Nix and Harrison stole more than one. Caldwell, Koonce and Tollett each had an RBI. Allen stranded 8 runners while Roff left 5 on base.
