Race number 895 is another win for local runner Skeeter Hogue. Skeeter made the 700 mile, 12 hour (each way) trek to Muscatine, Iowa to compete in their 5K Watermelon Stampede this past Saturday, August 21 ^st .

Wearing his Mustang black and gold, he won his division and brought home a medal, ribbon and a watermelon. In keeping with the run’s theme, melons were presented to the winner in each division.

Muscatine is located in eastern Iowa, on the Mississippi River. Early Saturday morning Skeeter went down to the water and put his foot into the mighty Mississippi. Maybe it brought him luck but with his record, he probably didn’t need extra luck to claim the win.

Skeeter plans to travel to Stillwater this Saturday to participate in the 15 ^th annual “Remember the 10 Run.”
