The Allen Mustangs lost to the Mounds Golden Eagles Friday, September 24 ^th , night by a score of 46 to 28.

The game was competitive through the first half, however.

Allen received the ball and was first to put points on the board, driving the field and scoring on a four-yard rush by Shawn Husband. It was 8-0, Mustangs, after a successful two-point conversion -- a pass from Brayden Tatum to Davyn Wilson.

Mounds responded with a touchdown and PAT kick just before the end of the first quarter to make it 8-7, Allen.

The Golden Eagles scored again a few minutes into the second quarter to take the lead, and, after a successful PAT kick, the score was 14-8, Mounds.

With about three minutes left in the half, Mounds scored another touchdown and PAT kick to extend the lead even more, 21-8.

However, the Mustangs sored just before the end of the first half to stay in the game when Brayden Tatum ran for an 11-yard touchdown. The following two-point conversion was unsuccessful, however, making the halftime score 21-14, Mounds.

Second half

The third quarter proved disastrous for the Mustangs as Mounds went on to score 18 unanswered points.

In the fourth quarter, the Mustangs tried to get back into the game with an 18- yard touchdown run by Brayden Tatum. The score was 39-20, Golden Eagles, after an unsuccessful twopoint conversion attempt.

But Mounds put the game away for good by scoring another touchdown, making it 46-20 after a PAT kick.

Allen earned one final score -- a six-yard touchdown by Shawn Husband -- and a twopoint conversion pass from Tatum to Tagus Howard.

The Mustangs (2-2/0-1) will travel to Okemah this Friday to take on the Panthers (4-0/1-0). The district game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Tatum caught one pass for 21 yards; Koonce had two grabs for 18 yards; Quinn Corumm caught two passes for 17 yards; and Quinton Walker caught two passes for nine yards.
