Calvin First Baptist Responds to Game Night Fight

Posted in:

Christ came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. The events that took place tonight are in no part close to the abundant life that Christ has for each one of us.

What happened tonight is not who we are as Calvin Bulldogs. It brings shame and disgrace to OUR community, OUR school, OUR young people, and to OUR athletic program. I am not saying what took place by no means is our fans, players, and coaches fault but I am not saying we are 100% innocent either. We must take fault and ownership where they are due.

WE must do better and WE must be better. WE must ensure that nothing like this never happens in OUR gymnasium or at a competition that we are a part of again. WE must create a culture and environment that will stifle all strife and conflict. That kind of behavior will not be tolerated in OUR HOUSE again.

We attend sporting events to support, encourage, and love on young people. They must hear positive encouragement from our fan base. In the negative word that we live in they need positive encouragement now more then ever.

Our young people need us to lead by example. How are you going to respond?

I am PROUD to be BULLDOG. Let us always be PROUD to be a BULLDOG.

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.”
